Question about unplugging torque converter ?

This question is for my daily driver, 1992 Buick Roadmaster. Lately my torque converter clutch is engaging and disengaging hard in and out of lockup and it is starting to annoy me and instead of replacing converter I was considering just unplugging it for now. I have heard that unplugging the converter is not a good idea and could cause other problems. Anyone have any input on this question ????

Thank you, Jimmy.
