Re: Question about Short Shifters

I e-mailed the guy for jared's short stick..he has no link..he said he only sells them on ebay however he will sell them outside of ebay...$25.

I just have a regular pro 5.0 in there now. I'm considering cutting it down now..perhaps using a grinder.

I've got one of the JSS's and am very happy with it. Can't beat the price
or this, if that doesn't work http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...&highlight=jss

Re: Question about Short Shifters

I have the Pro 5.0, and I cut down the stick the second day I had it. I cut it as far as possible, leaving about 3/4" of thread sticking past the backup nut. I am using the white Hurst shifter ball with the six-speed pattern on it. It looks very nice and the stick feels very positive. In gear I can BARELY wiggle it back and forth, so it's nice and tight. If I could go shorter I don't think I would, because shift effort would just get higher. It already takes a firm hand to shift, and the travel feels just right. If you want tight, drive a mid-nineties GTP around. I swear that shifter moves no more than 2 inches between shifts.
