Q about Vacuum Modulated 4L60E

My Stage 2 4L60E that i have in my garage is Vacuum Modulated vice electronic modulated....i think...lol.

Anyway, my question is this: can i use a standard B&M Shifter on it, or do i still need to have my electronics hooked up to it?

Thanks

You still have to have the electronics hooked up, & yes, the B&M shifter is ok. Don't forget the vacuum line to the modulator. The vacuum modulator controls line pressure, if you leave it disconnected, you will have very firm shifts at light throttle openings, which is hard on the gear train.

Ok, actually i guess i need to explain myself...lol

B&M says that you have to have an aftermarket controller to hook their auto shifters up to a 4L60E? who offers these? and is there is "cheap" alternative, except putting in a 700r4?

Re: Q about Vacuum Modulated 4L60E

If Dave builds units that are holding up, then this transmission should workout ok. I have built many units over the years using the vacuum modulation, and they have held up very well. Frank and I are at odds on this, He has his way, and I have my way on what works. There are a few good builders that use the vacuum modulator, and a few good builders that don't. There is no concensus on this, just what works for each.
