You might want to check with others, but I was under the impression that they are not directly interchageable. The input shaft on the LS1 is longer than the LT1, the bolt pattern is not the same and the clutch is a different design, with the LS1 being a conventional "pusher" with the T/O bearing pushed by a slave cylinder that is concentric to the input shaft and mounted directly on the front cover of the tranny, as opposed to the "pullback" clutch used in the LT1.

The only way that is going to work is if you change the input shaft on the tranny as well as the bell housing. By the time you've done this, I think you will find it is easier to find a tranny that will fit without modifying. How do I know this? I tried to put a tranny into my car that had an over long input shaft. I found out the the input shaft was from an LS1. Cost of new shaft with related bearings etc 400. Cost of install?

Good luck.
