problems with rear?

problems with rear?

hi, i have a 94 Z28 with 90,000 miles. it seems that everytime i floor it the back rear left tire seems to like thump like its hitting a pot hole. it also does it wen it shifts into second. anyone know what this could be?

You sure it is coming from that far back? Sounds like the trans mount has broken.

well it feels like it the back, but i can feel it vibrate in the middle where the shifter is also. Even wen i get on it tho, it still chirps second and performs fine.

My torque arm came loose once and made a similiar sound. But sounds like a tranny mount. If the shifter is moving to it's not wheel hop is it?

The first thing I would check is the LCA's for excessive play. A bushing in the LCA could've failed.

Make sure the pinion bolt is tight too. You'l have to take the Drive Shaft out to check it.

My 95 z28 was doing the same thing. After investigation I found the rear sway bar was hitting an aftermerket differential plate. I am replacing the whole rear end so I'm just letting it be for now but I would check it out.
