Pro 5.0 shifter

I recently purchased a pro 5.0 shifter for my car, and let me tell you, i am not all too impressed with it. First i wanted to see how much of a difference the throw from first two second was, so i measured the stock shifter was. Then i installed the pro 5.0 to see what its throw was. the difference was close to a mere 1/4". I will tell you, a 4" throw is not what i call a short throw shifter. I will give them credit, that the shifter is nice, and it does go into gear easier. Anyone else feel the same way?

I got a hurst short throw shifter and put a short stick from ebay on it. Damn the 2-3 3-4 is a huge improvment.

Changing the shifter itself doesn't shorten the throws. Changing the length of the stick does that. Get a shorter stick. Lou's Short Stick is popular. I have a custom one made by Matt Simonds (teke184 on this board).

Sure it does, if they move the pivot point higher. That's the whole idea behind aftermarket shifters.

Why BUY a short stick when all you have to do is cut a little of the 5.0 stick off and have the same effect?????

I bought mine used with the stick cut, but I still tried the short stick I already had on it. There was no difference. So I pulled the short stick off and sold it with the stock hurst for $40....I didn't pay much more for the 5.0.
