Price on 5th gear & syncro

My 5th gear is going out and I got a quote of 900-1000$ to replace it and the syncro. Is this a bad/good price. What price is fair. Thanks

--> to add to your post Steve, this quote is with the tranny already out of the car, no uninstall/install labor included in that quote. Seems very high to me just to replace 5th gear and a few synchros.
