Possible clutch related trans problems?

I just installed a new flywheel and clutch. the flywheel was shot. I'm wondering if it got that way from a bad clutch that I got from autozone. This is the 2nd time I replaced the clutch. I heard that the autozone clutchs are a copy of valeo and are a ****ty copy and that they arent neutral ballanced. The car used to vibrate before I changed the clutch and chatter bad and it had an autozone clutch. Now it has a worse vibration and still chatters. I know I have to have the flywheel ballanced to match the one I took off and I guess I have to have the pp ballanced to zero but i'm wondering if an unballanced pp can mess up the transmission cause it has a chatter and rattle sometimes. I havent driven the car but 20 miles since the replacment but i'm worried about when I used to drive the car with the last clutch and its chattering.

I think that chatter / vibration noise is your pressure plate .. I have always thought when
you replace the clutch you should also replace the pressure plate & and flywheel

Does the new flywheel have the typical LT1 balance weight on it?

The new flywheel (above)

The old flywheel (above)

The newflywheel does have the moulded weight on it. It also has drilled out spots on it also. the old one does too but i'm not sure if its the original flywheel.

Re: Possible clutch related trans problems?

Had the engine started with the new flywheel, I left the clutch and trans removed to see if the engine still vibrated. I did, It vibrated just as bad as when it was all together. I found a machine shop that balances. I figure that the old flywheel was balanced fine so I took the new fw in to get matched to the old one even though the new one seemed to be balanced from the drilled out spots on it. Also, I know my pp isnt neutral balanced cause it has a yellow paint dot to line up with the dowl pin on the crank/fw. I'm having that neutral balanced. Is that the correct thing to do with the fw and pp or what should I do with these 2 parts to be sure?

(Reminder) the clutch is that fake china valeo from autozone and the fly is from napa

Re: Possible clutch related trans problems?

I just got a call from the shop balancing my parts and he told me that the fw was 30 grams off balance to the stock fw. So this new balanced flywheel from napa that was factory balanced was NOT balanced correctly and has too much weight. The pp is next.

Re: Possible clutch related trans problems?

I installed the flywheel and ran the engine. Its way smother, its just like it was with the original flywheel. the engine still vibrates around 900 - 1100 rpms and i'm wondering if it can be smoother.

Also, if you look at the pic of the old fw, isnt the weight sopposed to be balanced evenly directly above the dowl hole? if it is, then can that be why it still vibrates alittle like it always has.
