Posi rear end??

I went to have a little innocent fun tonight and do a little donut in an empty, wet parking lot (from rain). When i turned into it and gave it a little gas, to my suprise, the car just went in a normal little circle accompanied by a whine and only the inside tire spinning.... i immediately let off.

The car has never done a one wheel peel, all the times i've lit the tires up it's been two solid black lines every time... Did i break something or was that just the way the rear grabbed at that particular moment?

The car seems to run fine otherwise, save for a busted t/o bearing that's being replaced in a week or so.

Thanks in advance!

It's possible it was just acting odd that time, maybe because of the rain. I've heard if the car does a one wheel peel that means the posi is either gone or going though.

If you were driving in a circle, and pushing the car hard, the diff will lock up, and since you are not driving straight, the inner tire will start slipping because its on a shorter radius, but turning at the same speed as the outside wheel. If you were not pushing it quite so hard, it might have "chattered" to compensate for the fact that in a turn, the wheels do not move at the same velocity.

You really need to check it in a "straight line".... not driving in a circle.
