Posi/Gear Install

Sometime this week I will be receiving a new eaton posi differential and new stock gears 3.42. Since the new gears will be stock, does the computer need any new settings?

Re: Posi/Gear Install

why are you going with new 3:42's?? did u break ur orignals? I highly reccomend you installing 4:10's with an M6, if your going to be installing gears anyways. i daily drive my car and they dont bother me at all. 4:10s should have come stock from the factory on a M6. Seriously look into 4:10s

Re: Posi/Gear Install

Well for a couple of reasons:

About 6 mons ago I had put synthetic fluid in the differential and now its whining like a newborn baby lol.

I'm moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana from San Jose, California and will be driving the Z. Also I would like to get good gas mileage (of course I'm gonna get a tune-up) on my 2200 mile trip. Then later I will be getting rid of the car because the car is not balance enough for me..too much body-roll, can never get the suspension right, too damn heavy. I'm debating if I should go ahead and buy a swaybar kit and a subframe connector on a 112K body/chassis.

So eventually I will sell the car and upgrade to the Z06 which is my dream car.

Re: Posi/Gear Install

My Hotchkis sway bars made a big improvement with body roll, for what it's worth.
