Unhappy Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

I have a 97 Z28 automatic does anybody make a Polyurethane Transmission Mount?
I know ENERGY SUSPENSION does but only for a 350-400.
Autozone says REQUIRES CROSSMEMBER MODIFICATION.
So what's the deal.

Thanks,

Chris.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

I have a poly mount from Energy Suspension...went to local speed shop, told them what I had and they got it...Some have noticed increased vibration when using the plate that comes with it because it moves the trans a little higher in the tunnel and throws off the u joint angles. If this occurs you can not use the bottom plate or space down the cross member...Mine was fine with the plate, been on for a long time....

Question Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

Energy Suspension has no listing for the 93-97 Z28's.
So what one did you get?
I have an automatic.

Thanks,

Chris.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

O well I guess I will have to call Energy Suspension up.
And see what they say.
I can't believe nobody makes a Polyurethane Transmission Mount
for my car.

Thanks anyway,

Chris.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

I have an Energy Suspension Tranny Mount on my 93 and I just got the one for the third gen 700-R4 and it worked fine for me.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

I don't see any listing on the Energy Suspension web page.
For any transmission mounts for the 700r4's.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

Check Summit racing. I got mine through there.

ENS-3-1108G for black, ENS-3-1108R for red.

Same as the 82-92 mount. No crossmember mod needed.

Talking Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

Well looked at summit and came up with this one that is for a 350-400.
ENS-3-1108G
That comes up for a 92 Camaro 350 Auto.
Guess I will pick one up today and see what's up with it.

Thanks everybody,

Chris.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

That's the one I got for my '94 and it fits fine. AFAIK GM uses this mount on most of their front engine/rear drive vehicles.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

They don't list it for 93-up because it's a tad too tall for our application. ES says they are working on a mount for the 4th gen, but talking to people who had this problem long ago, they were working on it back then too.

All you need to do if you feel it is needed, is to put about a 1/2" spacer between the crossmember and the frame so it drops the mounting point of the trans mount down a little. I didn't do it when I put mine in, but I think I might do it soon.

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

I bought a Prothane mount. There was too much talk of the ES mount being too tall and no complaints about the Prothane that I could find.

Well said, and the very reason why I pulled out my ES Tranny mount today, and replaced it with a 1LE version which I personally think is 1,000 times better!

Re: Polyurethane Transmission Mount?

I've had both the 1LE and poly mount.

In my 6 speed, the poly was causing a lot of vibration. Switching to the 1LE mount fixed the problem.

I now have a 93 A4 and the poly works PERFECTLY on this car, so I will be staying with it.
