Re: polyurathene tranny mountS??

the poly mounts are notorious for vibrations...Once the mount gets broken in a bit, a little of the vibration should go away...Some guys even take off the "preload" plate, and they say that helps a bit too...Its just the effects of poly compaired to the "mushy" rubber mounts.(rubber ones absorb vibration, and poly's dont.)

all teh directions say are..

Instructions for # 7-1604 Transmission mount
1.) urathae mount will fit both one or two stud tye of mount to corssmember aplications. determine which type it is and use the screwes correctly..
2.) install (mount to crossmember) flat washers, lock washers and nuts suplied in this kit, as shwon in the diagram below. Do not tighten nuts at this time
3.) install, but do not tighten the mount to the transmission bolt, use the priginal factory hardware for this location.
4.)align the urethance moutn with the transmission and crossmember. tighten and torqe bolts to factory specs....

Yeah, mine vibrates pretty bad with the poly mount too. Since it's only about ~10 minutes to change, I'm thinking of throwing the stock mount back in for normal street driving.

*shrugs*

Mine vibrated a little more than stock, then when the Driveshaft became unbalanced, I had TONS of vibrations, enough to rattle the fillings outta my teeth. Now that I've got a good DS installed, it's smooth as glass to 140+.

yeah i think you're noticing the inherant vibrations of the car now.

probably mostly the driveshaft.

i know i noticed VERY minimal vibration when i put the mount on my 99z. and i already had poly motor mounts, torque arm mount and aftermarket lca and phb with poly bushings.

With the LS1 DS I have no vibration with my ES tranny and motor mounts.
