Pinion Seal Leak

I installed GMmotive 4.11 gears and a new stock diff, since then my pinion seal has been leaking. I got a mechanic to change the pinion seal, and then it started leaking again. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a common problem? What could have went wrong during the 4.11 install to maybe cause this?
Thanks
Omar

Re: Pinion Seal Leak

I had the same problem. I put in 3.73 gears and after I had a pinion seal leak. I went and bought another and installed the new one. This time covering it with a good bearing grease for added sealing. It has not leaked since.

Re: Pinion Seal Leak

Ya i did a search and it seems that you have to tighten it down really reallyt tight. I talked to my mechanic who did it and he said he tightened but maybe not enough. Hopefully thats the problem.
