I find it a discredit to ethic from any of the accusing and counter accusing professional transmission builders in that post.
I could hold the highest regard to the abilty to build a great trans from one of those vendors - but after reading the countless wasted replies in that thread taunting another builder - it's childish.

I'll stick with builders that talk one on one to the cutomer, rather than post for bragging rights of accomplishments.

I am trying to come up with and answer anyone here who knows how to get around homeland security to have a trans picked up by either UPS or FEDEX please chime in. I havent replied because I do not have and answer as soon as I do I will reply , The request you sent was forwarded to management for review I understand what your asking , We send you cash to have the two units shipped back then you ship them back . They have the information and I will get back with them again in the morning , This very incident may prevent any future sales in canada. I have no idea why we can so easily ship to canada but its a pain get something back, It isnt that you are being ignored, We are working on it. You should have just emailed me to check on the request. It would be alot faster since I only look at the forums a couple times a day and get alerts on email. I did get you email friday and said I would try and get and answer , I was also driving 1500 miles this weekend on a personal matter and its hard to work on answers and travel so please excuse I couldnt get back quicker.. I will get on it again in the morning.

Have you called FED EX and UPS, they would know how to get over that hurdle. How did you get the trans TO him? It would have had to get over the same hurdle to get there.

On a better note, CPT found out why mine didn't have reverse...the "I" clip came out of the regulator and it popped out. He fixin it.

Mr. Performabuilt, it would probly be easier if you just get him to do the paper work and get it shipped to you and you take care of it that way. Its a huge PITA trying to get them to pick something up....then someone still has to do the paper work for customs....

Thats probly why they have not done it. Thats why I hate to deal with the canadians.....its just so much of a hassle sometimes with shipping, I would limit it to the lower 48 in the future b/c I have been in your shoes

U.S.Customs is anything but logical and incredibly bureaucratic.

Yes fedex and ups say that any shipment coming from outside this country must originate from a shipper in the country of origin. That way all there indetification and such is documented,
Now oddly shippig to canada is very easy no hurdles to speak of there a simple declaration of manifest and its there. Its aparently the USA that has the strict rules. We are looking for solutions.
Geof suggested we rfund his money plus the money for the shipping then he would ship the units, Thats under reveiw now but a very awkward situation for us since though he very well may return the units at that point we have no recourse if he didnt as oposed to if he returned the trans and we didnt refund his money he would still have recouse through his credit card company. But anyway we will figure out a solution its ashame something that should be so simple is so complicated.

I can understand the difficulties in trying to get the trans back from Canada up to a point. The part about you being worried about being stiffed is a little hard to take though. It doen't sound like your a one man, small time shop, operating on a shoe string budget. This whole problem is not good for future business. Just my opinion of coarse.
