Parts needed for axle bearing replacement?
Which bearings are you replacing? The wheel bearings, pinion bearings or carrier bearings? Why are you wanting to change them? Is it making neat noises like mine was? Mine was making some wonderful grinding noises and I could spin my diff with the lugnut wrench while the car was in park on jackstands so I replaced the diff and the destroyed carrier bearings and my noise went away. Didnt touch the pinion bearings or the wheel bearings.
If you are just replacing the outter wheel bearings you'll only need new bearings and seals, not sure of the part number but you can get them anywhere, plus a slide hammer to get the old ones out, new fluid (do not use synthetic fluid on Auburn or clutchpack type diffs. is what Ive heard) plus limited slip additive and a cover gasket or RTV, whichever you prefer.
Hope that helps

Yes, that does help.
I am replacing the outer wheel bearings. My car is making a rubbing noise coming from the rear end. The noise tracks along with RPMs; not necessarily louder, but faster...something is rubbing as it spins and it spins faster as the RPMs increase. I'm going to shoot for the wheel bearings first and see if that takes care of it. If not, I'll try something different.
The car is 12 years old, so even if it's not the wheel bearings it won't hurt to replace them.
