anyone know the deal with this paddle kit that SLP sells?

i have a 3 series carrier (3.23) & Zexel LSD...do i need the kit to install 4.10s? thanks!

I just put a new Z/T in my 2000 z28. I am running 3:42's
I was thinking of 4:10's. My guess is that beacause of the increased size ( thickness) of 4:10's over 3:42s. A single piece
paddle would not slip into the carrier. Again this is a guess.
