Opened the differential cover. What gears are these?

The ring gear had a stamp that said Auburn Gears. Also on the ring gear is said 376 B.L006 and on the pinion 3J6 2.309. I just wanna know what these things are. I've googled and searched the site like mad and found nothing. Auburn's website doesn't even show them making gear sets. Am I losing my mind?

what that indicates is that your backlash should be 6 thousanths and that your checking distance from the axle centerline to the face of your pinion is 2.309

if you want to know the ratio, count the ring gear teeth and divide it by he amount of teeth on the pinion.

There should be a pair of numbers stamped into the ring gear that show the tooth counts.

You should have been counting the teeth as you spun it around.
