Re: old school 12 bolt

I looked into this as well, but eventually my interest faded. There is alot of work to getting one setup right, that includes fabbing, etc, etc. I decided my time was worth something, and i would rather use my valuable time doing other things. Another thing is you have to make sure the rears dimensions are spot on, and all bracketry at the correct spots and angles...otherwise your car will only be good for one thing. I ended up just fronting the money and getting exactly what I wanted, and it will be here within a week.

Don't get me wrong, its not a bad idea...but so far when it comes to fabbing things up...the budget i set for myself is always surpassed. If you feel you have the competance, tools, time and ability to do it RIGHT...then sure go ahead and do it. But if you don't have any one of those things, just start saving up because you will probably end up losing money and owning parts to a unfinished project.

I have the resources and even if it does cost a little more than planned atleast I'll have the satisfaction of doing something myself and saving some money in the process.

There is nothing wrong with that. I commend you for trying to do it yourself. Good luck. When its all finished be sure to post back up and let us know how it came out. There is another member on LS1tech.com that did a ford 9" himself, his name on there is NXSLT1 i believe...they only thing he did different is that he chose not to use a torque arm and fabbed up some Z bars instead.

Thanks, I plan on giving detailed info on everything I do on my build up. I've been helped from other people and I plan on sharing everything that I learn along the way.
