oil leak ruining clutch...input shaft seal?

Hi Guys,
I have the tranny out and flywheel resurfaced. Replacing the clutch but there is oil splattered around the bell housing and also relatively thick on the front of the tranny. I held the tranny so the input shaft pointed down and tranny fluid leaked out of the shaft. Does this mean the seal is shot? This is with the tranny fluid drained as well and only with what ever was left in the tranny.

The flywheel had no oil on the back of it so the tranny shop where i had the flywheel resurfaced said that it isn't likely the rear main seal. I do have seapage off of the oil pan gasket near the flat black pan in front of the bell housing. i cleaned it and used high temp sealant on the gasket. I think i might also need to be doing the intake gasket.

I just don't want to put a new clutch in and have the leak kill the clutch disc again. COULD IT BE THE INPUT SEAL?

i am RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL OF THIS SO PLEASE HELP ASAP...

THANK YOU!

Peter
