Is this Normal?

Hey guys..... Im new to the Camaro Scene as I Just Traded in my 03 Mustang GT for a 35th Anniversery SS...Man What power!!!! Any who Its a automatic but when I stomp on the gas I hear this "clunking" Sound and the Car doesnt pick up right away..... It Shifts Hard into First and then shifts pretty good into 2nd and 3rd but If I stomp on it from a dead stop It just dosent sound or feel right.....

Ive read that there is some problems with these Trannys and any info would be helpfull...Thx

Also the Tranny has 47k on it

Re: Is this Normal?

Probably what you're hearing is either A) some play in one or both of the U-joints, B) a bit of play in the diff, or C) a bit of both? Perhaps you're hearing the noise from the transmission itself (although I never noticed much noise from the tranny in mine ) ... maybe let someone else drive the car who knows F-bodies . I think a momentary pause and a little "clunk" from the driveline is normal when you punch it for a downshift .

Well, congrats on the purchase and the "upgrade" to your '02 SS . Have fun walking lots of stock and mildly modded GT's now .
