non lock up converter

i just called a torque converter company and they said that for a 3200 stall, a lock up plate is not nessesary. is this true? i search on this site and the lock up seems to be importaint for a daily driven car. would it be ok to use the 3200 stalled non lock up converter?

i have a 700r4 93 lt1 camaro with a cc306 in a 355.

Personally I wouldn't go with a non lockup converter. Why put extra heat through the trans and give up gas mileage?
