I just picked up my '98 WS6 and found that it has a bit of gear whine (sounds like gear whine at least) in 1st-3rd gear. It shifts perfectly, however. Is this something I should be concerned with? The car has 129,000 miles on it. I'm not really sure what sort of noise the trans should produce, if any at all. Also, the lower rubber shift boot was torn almost in two by the idiot who installed the Hurst shifter, so it transmits a bit more noise. Thanks for any input!
