Noise when coming to a stop

When coming to a stop light/sign my car makes a popping/clunking noise that sounds like its coming from the transmission/driveline area. It does it occasionally when i shift from any gear to neutral and then start to brake usually below ~25 mph. not sure if its too serious and it doesnt seem to affect the overall performance of the car just kinda a neusance. any ideas would be alot of help and appreciated. thanks guys.
