new transmission acting wierd...help?

my 94 z has a newly rebuilt transmission...it shifts nice and firm, but at 3k rpm, and it wont downshift without manually shifting the stick down ...i would like to make it shift like a normal transmission again, is there anyway to reset the computer to make it do this?

ps. i bought the car with the rebuilt tranny, so i dont really know what is going on with the programming/internals of the tranny

Is your tranny electronic?
On mine I'd tell you to tighten(readjust) the throttle valve cable, you may have to use a "Power Programmer" tho...
