I have new tranny with a Vigilante, I know nothing about the install yet. Anyone have any pointer or know of things I may need ?

It's pretty straight forward. What specifically are you concerned about?

1. Remove drive shaft
2. Remove torque arm
3. Drain old tranny
4. Remove old tranny
5. Check crankshaft for burrs and out of round and remove any rust
6. Remove paint from converter crank pilot with emery
7. Lightly grease the converter hub and pilot
8. Check the flex plate for warping, cracks, or worn teeth and replace if needed
9. Fill converter with ATF
10. Install the converter on front of the transmission, be sure it is fully seated by rotating at least one full turn
11. Install transmission
12. After bell housing bolts are tight, check for clearance. There should be 1/16 to 1/8" of clearance between pads on converter and flex plate. If you have more than 1/16 to 1/8", install equal thickness washers to reduce clearance to 1/16 to 1/8". If not enough clearance, remove transmission and check to see if converter is seated in front pump properly.
13. Tighten converter bolts to spec
14. Sometimes it is difficult to install the transmission with the converter mounted to the tranny. Depends on the tranny and the size of the converter. There are instructionshow to deal with that at: http://www.aittransmission.com/instaltc.html
15. Fill transmission with ATF
Obviously, you will need to reconnect all electical connections, cooler lines, shifter cable, throttle cable, etc. depending on the setup. It's also may be easier to install the tranny with the dipstick installed, or maybe not. Depends on the setup. It would be hard to foget reinstalling the DS and TA, so I didn't mention these either.
