Re: New Rear

I'm a big fan of the Eaton and the PRO-series Auburn. I have been using a Pro-Auburn in my 11 second bird for 7 years and its been great...With Eatons I like the units with upgraded 800 lb preload springs...

Uh, you could try it. Some guys have been able to keep their 10-bolts from grenading on 11sec runs but you better start a 12-bolt fund in case your luck isn't amazingly good, lol. I'll have an Eaton LSD and aluminum support cover with only a couple of nicks from shattered ring gears for sale in the near future after I get my 12-bolt in.

Re: New Rear

SpeedDemon,

500-600rwhp? You will definitely need a 12 bolt or a 9". The problem is that a 7.5" ring gear can not be made any bigger/stronger than it is (isn't). Even with Moser axles, solid pinion spacer, and a TA style cover you'll still break the ring and pinion at those power levels, Plus the stock 10 bolt uses c-clips which at those power levels could be disasterous if you broke an axle.

Could you drive on it? Yes....Could you race with it? No. One good launch with that kind of rwhp and something is going to go BOOM...
