NEW Moser leaking!

I put a Moser 12 Bolt Rear End Assembly under my 95 Z28 Camaro. ...4:11 gear-33 spline axels-eaton posi-TA Cover. The whole shabang!

There is fluid leaking out of the vent tube coming out of the top of the driver side axel. WHY OH WHY is this???? please help. The tube points up but then curves sideways and points to the wheel like moser told me to. And there is not to much fluid! .... help... reply or call 309-945-6227!

Re: NEW Moser leaking!

Because it's overfilled...

If you fill it with the hole in the TA cover, it will spew out of the vent tube. If you use the fill hole on the passenger front side of the pumpkin, then it will not.

My Moser 9" did the same thing for the same reason - overfilled it. Still don't know how I got so much fluid in there...

Re: NEW Moser leaking!

My Moser 9" pukes fluid out the vent tube and it's filled to the bottom of the housing fill hole. I added a second vent hole to the top per a gear shops recommendation and still get fluid out the hole. I ended up adding a "catch can" to the end of the breather tube. The catch can is mounted higher than the rear with the tube connected to the bottom of the can. This way the fluid can drain back into the rear.

Same thing happened to me. Drain some gear oil out.
