Experts In Here!!!! Help!

Here is my boring sob story that I need desperate help in. 2000 Camaro SS, Has brand new D&D (viper internal) t-56, New Spec Stage II Clutch, New Master Cylinder, and New Slave Cylinder. The problem that I keep experiencing now after 3 clutches and 2 tranny's is that Its extremely difficult to put into gear. The problem seems to be that the slave cylinder is not pushing far enough on the Pressure plate to disengage it from the disk. The car has a stock bellhousing, and a z06 flywheel. I am using the shim that Spec provided for their clutch. What can this be? All advice is welcomed!

Re: Experts In Here!!!! Help!

I'm not sure with the Z06 flywheel on the lt1 style fbody. honestly never heard of this being done. the ls1 units do require a special type of throwout bearing when compared to the lt1 unit. if the salve cylinder doesn't match up right, it can cause problems. I'd really have to see to be more helpful. the combination of parts is soo far from stock i'd have to see it to be able to come to any conclusions. but you are right, the pressure plate is not fully disengaging with the disk since it is burning up clutches. as for being on tranny #2, i'm not sure what could have caused that. sorry i can't be of much help....try and get some pics of the linkages for us.

no this is in a 2000 camaro ss. The tranny was replaced, because the stock unit was no good.
