New here...rear end noise

Hey everyone. I just purchased a 1997 z28. From what I can tell so far it has traction control, factory chrome, 6spd, but no t-tops which kinda stinks. Anyway my question is about the rear end. Last night driving it home from the dealer I heard nothing. Then today whenever I'm going around a turn very slowly, pretty much from a dead stop. I get this odd noise that almost sounds like the brake pads are rubbing into the rotor. I wouldn't call it a whining noise, or grinding and I don't hear any clunks but the noise is definetly noticeable. It almost sounds like when a big rig or bus is coming to a stop that wooooo sound. I apologize if my description sucks. I put my hands on the wheels to see if they were hot (stuck brake calipers I thought) but they were not. Anyone have any ideas?

It might be the bearings going out in the rear. Its pretty common. Mine did it at 80K and a friends 00Z did it at 66K. It will slowly get worse and worse.

You would need to find out what differential you have . It could be going bad.

Re: New here...rear end noise

Just thought I'd update. I replaced the fluid and added the LSD additive. It hasn't made a noise in 60 or so miles that I drove it today so I guess that fixed it. Thanks for the responses though!!!
