I've noticed that my car has developed gear whine since I had the pinion seal replaced about 6 months ago. The whine is noticable at 50+ mph and only when my foot is on the gas pedal. Are there safety concerns with letting this go un-fixed? Is it still possible to fix the problem or do I have to buy new gears? Anyone know a good place in the Washignton DC area to do the job?

Thanks for any replies!
