New gears

Hey guys, I just got some new gears (3.42's) and i was wondering did u drive the car for a while before you got it tuned? Also does it hurt anything if i dont get it tuned immediatley(sp). Let me know thanks.

No, it won't hurt anything. Just know that your speedometer is going to be off. All the tune does is recalibrate your speedometer.

you will also shift sooner than you should because the pcm will think you're going faster than you really are. depending on what gears you're swapping from, that may be an issue, if you had say 3.23 to 3.42 like I did, its only a matter of less than 5mph off and thats not enough to make much difference, but you should get it calibrated eventually.
