New Gear Break in period.

Ok, i just had the new gears put in a couple days back. I already have 223 city, stop and go miles on them. Im taking a trip from Orlando up into Georgia, This will put me well over the 500 mile break in period. However comma, DO the 500 break in miles need to be all city or can they be a mixture? Hook a Brotha up. ALso , how do you put an avitar on here? I dont see how to do it.

It's heat and cool cycles that work harden the gears. If your mileage had quite a few cycles like that in it, then you should be ok.

Alright, thanks Fellas. I'll just take it easy for a bit. No need in getting the mustang drivers upset right now anyway. Thanks man, a lot of F-body drivers dont like the hockey stripes but who cares? My car right?

Re: New Gear Break in period.

my guy who installed mine drove it for 15 minutes and let it sit. Then I drove it around 15 minutes home and let it sit. The next day I drove about 30 miles (easy driving) and then it sat for a couple hours. After that, I put a little pain on em and they seem to be doing awesome for me.

lol, i drove mine for 10 miles, then let them cool for an hour or two, took the car out again, drove another 10 miles let it cool...then took a 20 miles drive, and whooped them after the 20 miles. So far so good!
