Their sprung hubs suck! Their solid disc clutches rock. Thats about it on spec.

Seemed to be a reputable company and the price was reasonable. Held up for 400+ RWHP just fine in my application. I had a SPEC II.

I had a Spec II in my Z28, it drove well and held up fine to the car in my sig. That was quite a few runs down the strip with several clutch dumps on ET streets.

I've heard more bad then good about them.. Not just on this board either. It seems that some people have good luck w/ them and a lot of people have trouble w/ them.

If you want more opinions, register on LS1tech.com and do a search there.... VERY active website and TONS of SPEC threads. (not bashin here, just tryin to give the guy more options)

Do they Make McLeod for your project car? I have one and no problems. I haven't heard of many problems w/ these.

I keep hearing bad things about them on here, but my stage 2 has never given me a problem. Also, my friend has one on his Saab 93. According to all his forum buddies it's the only way to go.

I was also steered towards my McLeod single disc because of all the threads about bad spec clutches.

Read a lot of posts bashing spec, I almost was afraid to use their product because of it.

When I originally built my car 03 ran a mcloud twin, no problem with the twin other than the fact running a springless hub causes some chatter and when I swapped the trans with a new unit from D@D I noticed a lot of wear on the input shaft.

Could the wear be due to the springless hub, not sure. With a new trans I did not want that issue so I decided to run a single spec 3+.

From MY EXPERIENCE both spec and mcloud make a good product.
I like the fact that a clutch has a little give, I dont need 10 10ths unforgiveness in a clutch.
