New Clutch?

I need a new clutch.

I saw that SLP has the pressure plate/throwout bearing and clutch disk for about $350. Anyone have any bad luck with these clutches, Im going to reuse the stock flywheel.

What clutch do you recomend. Consider im in college and got no money.

I have the single-disc McLeod clutch disc and pressure plate. From what I understand, it is very similar to the SLP unit in terms of being streetable.

If you have a '94, your flywheel has seen a lot of wear. It's best to have a machine shop resurface it while you are that far in. It costs $30 or so and takes them 3-4 hours at the most. In doing so, you'll save yourself premature wear on the clutch disc.

And definitely follow the installation directions carefully while aligning the disc and torquing down the pressure plate.

Also replace:
Pilot bushing/bearing - $5, and it WILL wear out.
Rear main seal - $20? Saves you headaches down the road.

It's SO much easier to change out now, while you have the tranny out.

Did you have the infamous T56 growling noise, before your clutch swap? If so, did the new clutch, TO bearing fix it?
thanks
