New Camaro; speedometer off
New Camaro; speedometer off
Howdy.
Recently purchased a 1999 Camaro Z28 LS1 w/ a 6 speed. The previous owner had done some work to it, which I was pleased with, save for one thing: He has a 3.23 rear end on it now, and the speedometer is off.... by about 10-15 MPH. Which makes it difficult to, ya know, not get a ticket
.
How do I go about fixing this? Someone on another forum mentioned a Diablo Reprogrammer, found here, but as I'm not planning to change the rear end again for awhile, I'd rather NOT spend ~400 dollars for this fix. If I have to, so be it, but are there any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

First off, welcome to the forum! You need to get the PCM tuned whenever you change rear gears. There are two places that most of us use, and those are PCMforless and MadZ28 (madtuner). If you send them your PCM, they can program it to your specifications. You can also pay them a core charge so they send you a PCM, then you send your old one when you receive the new one. I used PCMforless, and was very pleased. It costs $150 for the tune, and $100 for the core charge, which is refunded when they receive your PCM. Any tuning needed after that is $50.
