Neutral Balanced Flexplate

Does anyone know where I can find a neutral balanced flexplate. I attempted to remove the counter weight on a stock (new) flexplate but managed to bend the center section when i thought it would come off with a chisel and a few swift hits with a hammer. The welds they use on them really spread out and penetrate really well.

a stock flexplate is externally balanced, which means you need to have a new flexplate matched to that. it had to match the rotating assy.

I talked to Golen today and they have an SFI approved flexplate that's neutrally balanced so I'm gonna pick that up. I couldn't find one anywhere else.

Re: Neutral Balanced Flexplate

Chad over at Golen let me know when we were going over my shortblock that i'll need to remove the counter weight on the flexplate. The engine is dynamically balanced without the flywheel so it needs to have a neutrally balanced flywheel.
