Need New Clutch. Which one?

I don't need a high performance one that is going to give out after 25,000 miles and cost an arm and a leg. I will get a stock one if have too, but which ones do you guys suggest? How much and on average how long do they last? I got 80,000 out of mine. I got the car with 62,000 and I don't know how bad the previous owner beat on it, but I beat on it for the 18,000 miles I ran it.

The opposite would occur with a high performance clutch. We're not talking about tires here. If you want something that will last until you get rid of your car, go with a hi-po...McLeod, Star Spec stage 2 or 3, RAM...

The problem with choosing something like that, however, is that you need to upgrade your clutch master and slave cylinders. So, toss in another $400 to the price of parts+labor...you're looking at $1000-$1500. You may need to upgrade the clutch slave cylinder, regardless of the clutch you choose.

The factory Z06 clutch kit sells for around $309 through paceparts.com and other sites. That may be the best compromise for you. But if you don't ever want to do this again, choose something stronger.

If you don't plan on major upgrades in the future, I'd say go with the Z06 setup from www.gmpartsdirect.com - part # 12570806. That # is a package (I believe) that gets ya the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disk. All you need to do is pick up the throw out bearing I think. Can't remember for sure though. Check with your mechanic.

Performance clutches don't get a good rep for longevity because they get beat on so bad. For instance a Star stage 3 in the buddys twin turbo car only lasted 2 years. But 2 years behind a motor that puts 550+ hp to the rear wheels. Pulling 1.53 sixtys on sticky tires in a 3800lb. car. 2 years was great
A performance clutch used in a daily driver should last a good long time

Does the MM6 the same as MN6? MN6 is manual 6 speed, so I the gmparts site meaning MM6 to be a manual 6 or is the MM mean something else? I'm ready to order online tomorrow morning after this is answered. I will call if I have to, but I'm trying to save time...I hate staying on the phone forever which I'm pretty sure will happen when I call their customer service line.
