Need help right now, rear end axel removal

I am putting in a 4.11 rear, so i am in the process of removing my 2.73 rear. I need to get the brake backing plates off. I have the LCAS, shocks, and torque are still attached. I need to get the clips off of the axels though. I noticed a small bolt attached to the pin that is holding in some springs that are in the way of me getting to the axel clips. Am i supposed to remove this? Is there any other way to remove the axels?

Thanks guys,

Shawn

You posted this on the "LT1 ENGINE Tech" forum. It belongs in "Drivetrain". This seems to be in increasing problem. PLEASE post in the correct forum.

Well i needed a quick answer since my car is in the front lawn and it needs to be done today. I searched the drive train, searched here and found nothing. I took it apart anyways and got it myself though. You can delete this post.

How about a write-up on how the install went for you, may help other members who are doing the same thing, thanks.

I can do that, and even take some pics. If Injuneer appologizes, he made me cry. Hehe Jk. It's not hard at all. This is just the rear end removal and installe with a new one, not agear swap. I will also be putting in LCAS and a panhard bar when they get here. My posi unit went and i just couldnt want for them to get here.

Took a little over 4 1/2 hours, still have to fill the rear end up so say 5 hours by myself. I did have a friend help me set it up there and slide in two bolts to hold it up, but that was it. Definately not hard. I drove the front up on rhino ramps and i jacked the rear up, set it on jack stands which i set on brake rotors (i did this in my lawn) and layed on a big piece of plywood. I will try to do a write up tonight. I got to go get a rear end gasket before advanced auto closes though. I took some pics too.
