need help removing my axles!!!!
Its a 1996 camaro z28 with traction control. One of my studs broke and im trying to replace all of them. I took the axle out but there's like a gear stuck to the axle that wont let me take out the stud. What can I do? Do I have to get them pressed out? or what? I need help, I'm working on the car as we speak.
Re: need help removing my axles!!!!
EDIT: Just re-read the question.
The studs are just stuck in very good. Get a big hammer and slam them out. You can take the studs out with the axle in the car too. I did this when I stripped one trying to put the lug nuts back on. What gear are you talking about? It must be something on TC cars, mine did not have any gears behind the studs, or stud plate.

theres a gear that wont let me hammer the studs out. I think its there because i have traction control. Is the gear pressed in or how do I change the studs?
Re: need help removing my axles!!!!
Need to get a free image hoster like, photobucket, or imageshack. Post it there then post the link here.
Also I can host it for you.
Hopefully someone who knows what you are talking about, and has done it on TC cars will come in since I am no help.

Re: need help removing my axles!!!!
Thoses relucor rings that are there for the traction control/abs.You must press them out before to be able to change your stud. And after that you need the press them back in to keep your tcs/abs working.
Thats it.

Re: need help removing my axles!!!!
i know what your talking about.. had to take them off when broke my axle (its for your traction control) all i did was heat it up with a torch... falls right off(expands)
just heat it back up, slids right on... 10 sec later.. feels like its welded on...
