I have a 95 z28 and am changing out the stock ring and pinion.. I need to know what the rpms would be at around 80 mph with the 373's vs. the 410's. I don't drive highway much and the car is for the weekends but I will drive some highway for school.. Car has alot done including cam, heads, intake, headers, powerdyne supercharger 4.5, MSD Ignition.exc....

M6 or an auto? if its a 6sp then go for the 4.10's. if an auto your car will love you for putting the 3.73's in!

with 4.30's and doing 75-80 i was still under 3000 rpm's on 275 45 17's but it depends on how many miles your driving too...

With a 6 speed go with the 4.10's, a buddy of mine switched to them and it made a huge difference. I don't think you would have trouble driving everyday because you have 6th gear to go tt so the rpms won't be very high.

With a 6-speed, I bet you wouldn't even notice a difference in mileage whatsoever. Even my A4 w/4.10's can get 250 miles to a tank on the highway, and the best I ever got with 2.73's on the highway was only 310. That's only 60 miles less, and that's a BIG gear difference!

4.10's with ~26" tires (which most factory 4th-gen cars have) and ~6000 - 6500 redline is perfect for 1/4 mile racing IMO. Use that gear chart posted above and see!

Re: Need help for picking 373's or 410's

With my 2001 WS6, 80 MPH with 4.11 rear = 2,100 RPM. MPG for city driving remained unchanged from the 3.42 stock gear. City nets me about 18 MPG. Highway milage dropped slighly, but not enough to make me wish I hadn't gone with the 4.11

1/4 mile for me, I trap at 108 and the shift light comes on at 6,000 RPM just as I cross the line, so I've still got more rooom before I hit the rev limiter.

Go with the 4.10 / 4.11 ... you won't be sorry.
