need help with a couple problems I am having.

I did a T56 conversion about a year and a half ago and I have a couple problems I need some info on, I am really hoping that you guys can help me. the first I did not realize until I drove a couple of my friends 6 speed cars. Their clutches start pulling about 2 inches off the floor and have a nice buffer area between there and when the clutch is all the way out. Mine does not start pulling until about 2 inches from the top and then it is very jerky/shakey and almost violent its more like an on/off switch than a clutch. Also when I back up and sometimes when I am taking off no matter how slow I let the clutch out the car shakes very bad but only when I am letting it out then it stops as soon as I am rolling. I got the tranny swap kit from a yard and had the tranny fully gone through by a shop here. I used the stock hydraulics and just went and got a stock replacement clutch for it. I would really like to get these bugs worked out because its getting to the point where its not even fun to drive because of this

if i had to take a guess, maybe a bad clutch already? They do chatter when they are going bad,and you say it grabs toward the top which also means the clutch is going bad. what gears in the rear end do you have? maybe even the trans mount is bad giving you and agressive shifter movement.
