Need Help - Axles and LSD

I have a stock 96 z28 with ASR and my axels are worn where the C clips connect allowing in-out play to cause caliper housing rub on my rotors when turning corners. Also, my limited slip is not limited at all. I have the one wheel peel deal going on.

I called my local dealer and the axles are discontinued and unavailable. He quoted me $829 for a new differential.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to car tech and am at the mercy of mechanics and folks like yourselves that actually know about this stuff. I could sure use some advice on where I can find replacement axels and LSD that will work with my ASR setup and, what to actually ask for when ordering. I don't have any plans on improving the performance over the stock setup so, I'm not really interested in anything stronger (more expensive).

I took my car to a friend that is pretty savvy on this stuff and he took one of the axels out and that's how we confirmed that the C Clip and axle wear is what is causing my play issue. The limited slip has been an issue for quite a while but, since I don't do that much driving and I didn't have the budget for repair, I've just lived with it not working properly.

Can anyone help me out??

You can get an aftermarket posi for cheaper. I have an upgraded Auburn unit in my rear right now because my stock posi left me a couple years ago. I think it ran me around $480.

good used axles and posi differentials are relatively inexpensive here on the threads and on other car forums.Used axles have to be concerned about the wear where they ride the axle bearing and with differentials the concerns would be a worn out auburn and re-establishing proper 'lash'
