Need advise on a Turbo 400
Well I am now an expert in adjusting the TV cable but this 93 Z28 has a mind of it's own. At WOT the 2-3 shift just does not happen. Yes I am pretty sure it is because of the TCI 4200 stall converter. If I adjust the TV cable towards the nose of the car the tranny begins to slip and today it was so bad that second gear was not engauging at all; I had 1st and 3rd. Then I re-adjusted back towards the firewall and it will not make the 2-3 shift. I finally let off at 7,000 rpms, now the car is running rough and I hope it is just the roller rockers needing adjusting.
Bottom Line: I need a turbo 400 with a trans brake and built for racing. Anybody had any experiences with Kenny Wells in Orlando or Monster Transmission in Spring Hill Florida on turbo 400's ?
What about anyone with experience with a Turbo 400; how did you have it built? Did you go with the smaller first gear and if so was it worth it? What did you do for a new tranny mount?
The car is going to become a 383 probably sooner than I was expecting. I would really like to get it into the 12's with the motor as it is and the 13.09 is pretty close!
I am pretty sure I need:
Braded Tranny lines to the Radiator
New Flex plate
New 4000 torque convert that fits a turbo 400
Trans brake
New Yoke for the tail shaft
Drive Shaft cut to new length
Manual Shifter
