my LT1 t56 has a tremec stamp...
just pulled my 6 speed out and it has a tremec stamp on the out side case but inside by the bellhousing is stamped borg warner. are all the LT1 transmissions stamped tremec and borg warner?
Tremec bought the rights to make the T56 from BW. Never paid much attention to the stamping marks though. Tremec makes them in Mexico, AFAIK. BW used to make them here. Like "everything" else. We are becoming a nation of consumers, not makers. Ever see/read "The Time Machine", book by HG Wells? Do a quick Google for "morlocks and eloi" and you will see my point. Right now, we have eloi and morlocks in the US. We are heading toward becoming a nation of eloi. Can't go further w/o getting political, so I will stop now and take a chill pill

From the TTC website:
Transmission Technologies Corporation (TTC) is part of the DESC group, one of Mexico's largest automotive component suppliers. DESC is traded on the Mexican Stock Exchange Index under the symbol DESC.
TTC is a joint venture between DESC's automotive operation and Dana Corporation, traded under the NYSE symbol DCN. With the acquisition of TREMEC in 1994, the acquisition of Borg Warner's manual transmission operation in 1997, and the relocation of Dana's medium- and heavy-duty transmission operation in 1998, the Transmission Division became a full service Tier 1 transmission manufacturer.
