Is this my carrier?

OK the rear end sounds fine under normal driving. But if I engage the line lock and do a small burnout out the rear make a repetitive popping sound. Also, sometimes my limited slip won't even engage (one wheel burnout), but when it does it make that noise. My question is could this be a problem with anything other than the carrier? I recently changed the fluid and added the GM additive and it didn't help. Thanks.

If it only happens when limited slip kicks on it has to be the carrier right?

If you turn on the line lock and only 1 wheel spins sometimes, your posi is on the way out. So yeah, I think your carrier is shot.

One attached to a 12 bolt or a 9 inch.

I used to run the Auburn Pro with the RaTech solid pinion spacer on my 10 bolt. Don't know how much they go for now.

The SLP one is cheap though, so your call.

Does slp still offer the t/o? I can't find it on their site? Thanks.
