Question Moser 12bolt assembly questions

I'm putting my 12 bolt together and am kind of wondering a few things since I've never done it before.

1) How do I know what way the seals and bearings go in?

2) I ordered it without c-clips so how do I have to install the axles?

thnx

The sealed bearings have an o-ring toward one side. The o-ring goes toward the outer portion of the axle. These bearings must be pressed onto the each axle after the brake backing plates are installed or placed onto each axle. There should also be a steel shim on each axle. The bearing gets pressed onto this shim.
Once you get the axle-bearing-backing plate assembly done, it slides right into the differential. The t-bolts clamp it down. You will need to go out and procure 8-grade 8 nuts. BTW, you must have a press to install the bearings onto the axle.

Ah yes, the impossible to fasten "T" bolts I remember them well! I ended up chamfering the holes so I could get a socket onto them. Would be nice if Moser provided some instructions for that or something.

Ok so were do I put the seals then? After completed they would be more inside towards the diff then the bearings? Do I press the seals into the tubes and press the bearings onto the axles? I thought the bearings would be put into the tubes not onto the axles?

I assume I can paint the end of the axles from right after the shim and out?

The only seal on the axle and axle tubes is the one incorporated into the bearing itself. The bearings are factory sealed bearings, at least the rear they sent me was. This bearing is then pressed onto the axle shafts. Kinda of a weird design but it seems to work. Most rears, like the stocker, use a seperate axle seal and the bearings are lubed with differential fluid. The moser design does not replicate this.

I do have a squeel noise when making a left turn, but no noise when making right turns. I think it has to do with shimming the brake backing plate, not sure, but I will figure it out.

You should be able to paint any part of the axle protruding out from the rear after the shim, but why? It won't be seen 99.9% of the time.

The bearings seem to be sealed and would probably seal the tubes but they also sent me seals so I don't know I'm guessing the seals get pressed into the tubes. What exactly do I do with these t-bolts?
The only reason I am painting it is to fight rust. I don't like rust anywhere

I believe the seals are spare pinion seals.
They are not axle seals.

The t-bolts are necessary to clamp the axle shafts to the housing. Because Moser uses a very large bearing, it was necessary to use a t-bolt. A regular bolt will not fit, there is not enough clearance on the billet steel housing ends.

Thanks for the help, all is together now. I called Moser tech and they told me the seals are axles seals and go into the axle tubes.

Exactly where are the seals supposed to be installed? They would seem unnecessary because the bearings are already sealed. I didn't install them and no problems here.

The seals get pressed into the axle tubes and then you slide the shafts with the bearings on them in through the seals. I really doubt they are needed as the o-ring on the bearings is in there pretty tight.

The only question I have left is what is this package of 4 bolts and washers that came with it for? oh and is the only thing actually holding the axles in the caliper plates?!?

the 4 bolts/washers are for the Torque Arm
