Moser 12 bolt Price and info HELP

I'm about to order my 12 bolt moser rear end for my 95 Z28 Camaro. Any of you guys know the cheapest place to buy it from? And also anyone have any advice on installation or what to look out for? Any information at all on my driveline will be great. I'm also switching out my t-56 for a stronger one and i want to put in a better driveshaft as well... but do i need to change the length after installing the 12 bolt??? also which gear should i choose? im thinking 4:10's? I drive it everday and on the interstate alot...but i also like to kick everyone's *** up on the avenue. I go to the track prolly 3 times a year. 4:10's or not?

let me know

Re: Moser 12 bolt Price and info HELP

I do not know who is cheaper but I ordered my 12 Bolt directly from Moser. It appears to me most prices are the same.

I believe you will have to order a new drive shaft depending on the size of the yoke you order on your 12 Bolt. Meaning, a larger yoke (1350 Series) will probaly cause you to install a slightly shorter drive shaft. I had to order a new driveshaft because I ordered a larger yoke.

Noise Factor: Moser tells you up front (read the info on their web site) that the 12 Bolt, that has larger and harder gears, will more than likely result in louder gear noises compared to stock. My 12 Bolt was extremely loud from Moser but since then I had Motive Gears installed which are quiter except when I cruise from 55 to 70 mph in 5th or 6th gear. Then I have a distinct howling noise that is not real bad but I had some gear installers tell me that it is just the harmonics from the gears.

Recommendation: When ordering your 12 Bolt, tell Moser you are principally driving your car on the street and you want your setup to be quiet and to install non-high performance racing gears. Motive sells all categories of gears as other manufacturer's do. Best yet, see if you can take a ride in a 4th Generation Camaro that has the Moser 12 Bolt to get an idea how it performs, especially to hear any noises. Also, the higher the gear ratio, the louder the gears. Call any gear manufacturer and ask them about noises and gear ratios as I did when I called US Gear.

you think your really gonna have to change out the t-56? from my understanding, its a pretty stout transmission. I guess it all depends on how much power your going to be putting out also. anyways, w/ a 1350 yoke, you will need a shorter driveshaft.

I ordered my moser from thunderracing.com about a week ago and it seemed that they had good prices on the setup. I have yet to put the rearend in, but I have found an awesome webpage that someone made that is a tremendous help in understanding exactly what you will be doing during the installation. ill post it below.

also, mine is a daily driver and i went for the 4.10s. so needless to say, my vote goes for 4.10s. you only live once.
