Moaning noise when turning. What should I do?
When I turn corners I frequently (but not always) hear a moaning noise that I suspect is coming from my rear end... It's relatively low pitch but doesn't sound like grinding.... More like rubbing... I have a stock 2.73 rear end and my car is stock... I have about 130k miles on the Z.
Any ideas what the sound may be? What should I inspect?
Thanks,
Steve

Sometimes that noise can come from the positraction unit. It can sound like a low growl or moan to a snapping and clanking sound. Try changing the lube and make sure you add some GM posi additive.

Thanks Rob, I'll stop by the local GM dealership and pick up a bottle of the limited slip additive... I'm due for an oil change anyway, so I'll do both at the same time.
Thanks again,
Steve
