messed up the rearend?

Ok I took out my carrier and put it in a different rearend because the other one was bent. I had to shim it but i think I did it wrong because when I go down the road the is a noise that get louder as I go faster. Does anybody know how much does it cost to have a shop shim it for me? Thanks for the help

That is the problem i have with mine right now. I think its my pinion and the guy that prev had it took it to a unreputable shop and they didnt put the nut on correctly. Good luck getting any help on this forum though, I have had my question up for weeks and I even put up videos and pictures to help. try LTXTECH.com

You might want to limit the miles you put on it. You run the risk of wearing an incorrect contact pattern into the gear surfaces, and once you do that, it may impossibe to quiet them down, even if you get them set up right.

Did you change both the ring and pinion? Did you set the pinion depth correctly, and verify backlash?
