mcloud street twin
ok driving car for first time after install. clutch feels like either it is on or off not much slipage. is this normal. will it loosen up. also is it poss needs to be bleed more. i only feel clutch for a 2in length at bottom. their is no bleeder on trans. how did all of u bleed your lt1 set up
Re: mcloud street twin
Only way to bleed an LT1 system is take the slave off and have the plunger facing down towards the floor. Remove the cap on the master and depress the plunger so that all bubbles are forces upwards.
Re: mcloud street twin
Its normal at first...did you put in the master cylinder that came with the kit? You can adjust that according ly...but it is a very tough clutch...I had one... Its a little too stiff and to catchy for my preference...

My ST was grabby right after install also. I drove it normally for 500 miles like recommended. The clutch still felt grabby and chattery. After the 500 mile mark I went out and did some heavy WOT runs from a stop. Worked the clutch pretty hard. I instantly noticed a difference in the way the clutch felt, after that the only time it gets grabby is if I'm in heavy traffic for a long period of time on a hot day. Other wise it feel a little tighter than the stock clutch and a little more clutch pedal pressure.
I spoke with a man from McLeod and he said do not baby the clutch or slip it a lot when taking off, drive it normally to aggressively. He said babying it would glaze the clutches causing them to chatter more.

Yea, that’s normal, I’ve never been happy with mine because of it. The aluminum flywheel ones are much worse then the steel ones. It’s mostly because they do engage positively and the clutch hubs are unsprung. I stalled mine 2x getting it out of the driveway, and most people stall it the first time they get behind the wheel. It never did get a significantly better, well it did originally have a bit of chatter that went away.
It does sound like you have some air in the system, you can get it out by disconnecting the slave and working the slave by hand, but usually after some driving around normally it will work it’s way out also. You should have the same pedal pressure through the whole clutch pedal travel when it’s right.
FWIW, my street twin blew up yesterday, with not quite 6K miles on it and no abuse this time around.
